Singapore Furniture Industries Council (SFIC) invited Nextofkin to participate in 'Our Neighbourhood!', a Singaplural exhibition showcase.
Roused by nostalgia, we designed and created the Brickworks sofa, a piece that comes along with doses of fun.
Building Blocks
of Nostalgic Fun
Brickworks abstracts the concept of how local HDB apartments are stacked, translating the idea into layers of cuboids built upon each other.
Held together with mini magnets, the furniture piece allows individuals to freely create each his own furniture interpretation.
Rethink Material Use
Typical use of Heveatech wood as flooring material is reintepreted as 3D structural & skeletal blocks that can be manipulated into ideas and forms of construction.
